Time for the fun!

Thanks for your generous donations of quilt materials! Now the fun begins… Our first session of ‘quilting’ will be January 19th from 9am – 12 pm in the Cultural Hall. Come and learn with us! Everyone will want to be involved in this project for President Monson!

What's next?

The Lehi North Stake Relief Society wants the stake sisters to make 84 quilts (12 quilts from each ward) in the first 10 months in 2011.

The number 84 is how old President Monson will be on his next birthday (August 21). No, he does not need that many quilts, but a few years ago, President Monson was asked what the ideal birthday gift would be. He said, “Do something for someone else on that day to make his or her life better.”

So here we go!! Batting is being provided by the stake, and we have many quilt squares ready to go. If you have a piece of cotton or flannel (at least 2 yards) that you would like to donate—or money donations are always welcome--this would help the cause.

Along with providing great humanitarian blessings, other goals of this project are to teach skills, fellowship, and unite sisters. Just think, if you learn how to make a quilt, your family might want to donate a family-created specialty!

P.S. – These quilts will be tied—not hand quilted.

A thank you from the Humanitarian Committee!

The school bags were a huge success. Seventy-seven bags were filled and turned over to the Church for distribution. Thanks to all for helping sew bags and donate school supplies and money to buy more. A special thanks to Debbie Davis and Barbara Dallon for spearheading this worthwhile activity.
