What's next?

The Lehi North Stake Relief Society wants the stake sisters to make 84 quilts (12 quilts from each ward) in the first 10 months in 2011.

The number 84 is how old President Monson will be on his next birthday (August 21). No, he does not need that many quilts, but a few years ago, President Monson was asked what the ideal birthday gift would be. He said, “Do something for someone else on that day to make his or her life better.”

So here we go!! Batting is being provided by the stake, and we have many quilt squares ready to go. If you have a piece of cotton or flannel (at least 2 yards) that you would like to donate—or money donations are always welcome--this would help the cause.

Along with providing great humanitarian blessings, other goals of this project are to teach skills, fellowship, and unite sisters. Just think, if you learn how to make a quilt, your family might want to donate a family-created specialty!

P.S. – These quilts will be tied—not hand quilted.
